Have you come to destroy us? I know you who you are, you are that Holy Man promised by God! 1:25 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Be quiet, and come out of him. 1:26 And when the unclean spirit had tore him, cried with a loud voice, and came out of him. 1:27 And they were all amazed, so that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority commands he even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him. 1:28 And immediately his fame spread throughout all the regions bordering Galilee. 1:29 And immediately, when they had come out of the synagogue, they entered into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John. 1:30 But Simon's mother-in-law was in bed sick with a fever, and immediately they told him about her. 1:31 And he came and took her by the hand, and lifted her up; and immediately the fever left her, and she served them. 1:32 And in the evening, when the sun was down, they brought to him all who were diseased, and those who were possessed by demons. 1:33 And all the city gathered together at the door. 1:34 And he healed many who were sick of divers diseases, and throw out many demons; and suffered not the demons to speak, because they knew him. 1:35 And in the morning Jesus got up very early, before sunrise, and went out to a quiet place to pray. 1:36 And Simon and those who were with him went after him. 1:37 And when they found him, they said, Everyone is seeking you. 1:38 And he said to them, Let us go into the next towns, so I may preach there too, for truly I came out for that purpose. 1:39 And he preached in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and threw out demons. 1:40 And a leper came to him, pleading with him, and kneeling down to him, saying, If you want to, you can make me healthy. 1:41 And Jesus, moved with compassion, put out his hand, touched him, and said, I will; be healthy. 1:42 And as soon as he had spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was cleansed. 1:43 And he commanded him, and immediately sent him away; 1:44 And said to him, See that you say nothing to anyone, but go your way, show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing those things that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them. 1:45 But as soon as he left, he began to tell many things and to preach about Jesus’ deeds, so much so that Jesus could no longer openly enter the city, but was forced to go out into the desert. And they still came to him from everywhere. 2:1 After a few days, he entered Capernaum again and it was rumored that he was in a house. 2:2 And immediately many gathered together, so many that there was no room to receive them, so many they filled the doorway. And he preached the word to them. 2:3 And four men brought a paralytic to the house on a stretcher. 2:4 And because they could not come nearer to Jesus to hear him preach, they uncovered the roof of the house where Jesus was preaching. And when they had broken it open, they lowered the sick person on the stretcher. 2:5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the sick man, Son, your sins are forgiven. 2:6 But there was certain of the Scribes sitting there, and thinking to themselves, 2:7 Why does this man speak blasphemy? Who can forgive sins but God alone? 2:8 And immediately when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they reasoned this way within themselves, he said to them, Why do you think such things in your hearts? 2:9 Which is easier to say to the paralyzed? Your sins are forgiven; or to say, Get up, and take up your bed, and walk? 2:10 But so you may know that the Son of man has power on earth to forgive sins, (he said to the paralytic,) 2:11 I say to you, Get up, and take up your bed, and go your back to your own house. 2:12 And immediately he got up, picked up the bed, and went out in front of them all. They were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw this before! 2:13 And again he went to the seaside, and all the crowd came to him, and he taught them. 2:14 And as he passed by, he saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the customs table, and said to him, Follow me. And he got up and followed him. 2:15 And it happened, that, as Jesus sat at dinner in his house, many tax collectors and sinners sat together with Jesus and his disciples, because many followed him. 2:16 And when the Scribes and Pharisees saw him eat with tax collectors and sinners, they said to his disciples, How is it that he eats and drinks with tax collectors and sinners? 2:17 When Jesus heard it, he said to them, Those who are healthy have no need of the doctor, only those who are sick. I came, not to call the righteous, but to call sinners to repentance. 2:18 And the disciples of John and of the Pharisees used to fast: and they came and said to him, Why do the disciples of John and of the Pharisees fast, but your disciples do not fast? 2:19 And Jesus said to them, Can the children of a wedding feast fast, while the groom is with them? As long as they have the groom with them, they cannot fast. 2:20 But the days will come, when the groom will be taken away from them, and will they fast in those days. 2:21 No man sews a piece of new cloth on an old garment , or else the new piece that filled it up pulls away from the old, and the tear is made worse. 2:22 And no man puts new wine into old bottles, or else the new wine would make the bottles burst, and the wine would be spilled out, and the bottles would be damaged. New wine must be put into new bottles. 2:23 And he went through the corn fields on the Sabbath day; and his disciples began, as they went, to pick ears of corn. 2:24 And the Pharisees said to him, Look, why do they do on the Sabbath day that which is not legal? 2:25 And Jesus said to them, Have you never read what David did, when he had need, and was hungry, he, and those who were with him? 2:26 How he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and ate the ritual bread, which is not legal to eat except for the priests, and also gave some to those who were with him? 2:27 And he said to them, The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath: 2:28 And so the Son of man is Lord also of the Sabbath. 3:1 And he entered again into the synagogue; and there was a man there with a withered hand. 3:2 And they watched him to see if he would heal him on the Sabbath day; so they could accuse him. 3:3 And he said to the man with the withered hand, Get up and stand in the middle of the room. 3:4 And he asked them, Is it legal to do a good deed on the Sabbath days, or to do evil? To save life, or to kill? But they remained silent. 3:5 And he looked around at them angrily, grieved at the blindness of their hearts. And he said to the man: Hold out your hand. And he did. And his hand was restored just as healthy as the other one. 3:6 And the Pharisees departed, and immediately gathered to meet with the Herodians who opposed Jesus, seeking ways to destroy him. 3:7 But Jesus withdrew himself with his disciples to the sea: and a large crowd from Galilee and Judaea followed him, 3:8 And from Jerusalem, and from Idumea, and from beyond Jordan; and those around Tyre and Sidon, a large crowd, when they heard what things he did, they came to him. 3:9 And he spoke to his disciples, that a small boat be ready for him because of the crowd, in case they should crush him. 3:10 Because he had healed many people; and they pressed in on him so they could touch him, and since many had plagues. 3:11 And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down in front of him and cried, saying, You are the Son of God. 3:12 And he strongly warned them that they should not make him known. 3:13 And he went up onto a hill, and called to him those he wanted to see, and they came to him. 3:14 And he ordained twelve, that they would be with him, and that he might send them to preach, 3:15 And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to throw out demons: 3:16 And Simon he surnamed Peter; 3:17 And James the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James; and he surnamed them Boanerges, which is, The sons of thunder: 3:18 And Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Canaanite, 3:19 And Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him. And they went into his house. 3:20 And so many people again assembled together that he could not even eat bread. 3:21 And when his relatives heard this, they went out to grab him, because they thought he had lost his mind. 3:22 And the Scribes who had come down from Jerusalem said, He has Beelzebul, and by the power of the head demons, he throws out demons. 3:23 And he called them to him, and said to them in parables, How can Satan drive out Satan? 3:24 And if a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot endure. 3:25 And if a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stay standing. 3:26 And if Satan makes war against himself, and is divided, he cannot continue, but is at an end. 3:27 No man can enter into a strong man's house, and take away his property, unless he first binds that strong man; and then he can ravish his house and carry off his property. 3:28 Truly I say to you, All sins will be forgiven to the children of men, and blasphemies with whatever they blaspheme. 3:29 But he who will blaspheme against the Holy Spirit has never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation. 3:30 Because they said, He has an unclean spirit. 3:31 Then his brothers and his mother came, and, standing outside, sent to him, calling him. 3:32 And the crowd sat around him, and they said to him, Look, your mother and your brothers are outside looking for you. 3:33 And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, and my brothers? 3:34 And he looked around at this disciples who sat all around him, and said, Look: My mother and my brothers! 3:35 For whoever does the will of God, that is my brother, my sister, and mother. 4:1 And he began again to teach by the seaside, and there, many people gathered together. So many, that he entered a boat and, so that he entered into a boat, and sat in the sea. And the whole crowd was by the sea on the land. 4:2 And he taught them many things by parables, and said to them this teaching: 4:3 Listen to this: A farmer went out to plant, 4:4 And as he planted, some seeds fell out, and the birds of the air came and devoured them up. 4:5 And some fell on stony ground, where it did not have much soil; and immediately the seed sprang up, because it had no depth of soil: 4:6 But when the sun came up, it was scorched; and because it had no roots, it withered away. 4:7 And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and strangled it, and it produced no fruit. 4:8 And others fell on good ground, and did produce fruit that sprang up and increased; and produced fruit, some a hundred times, some sixty times, some thirty times. 4:9 And he said to them, He who has ears to hear, let him hear. 4:10 And when he was alone, those who were around him with the twelve asked him about the parable. 4:11 And he said to them, To you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God, but to those who are outside, all these things are done in parables: 4:12 So that when they see they will see and not understand; and when they hear, they shall hear and not understand; in case at any time they should be converted, and their sins would be forgiven. 4:13 And he said to them, Do you not understand this parable? How, then, will you know all the other parables? 4:14 The planter plants the word. 4:15 And these are those that fell away, where the word is planted; but when those who have heard, Satan comes immediately, and takes away the word that was planted in their hearts. 4:16 And in the same way, those who are planted on stony ground are those who, when they have heard the word, at once receive it with gladness; 4:17 But they have no root in them, and so they endure only for a little while, afterward, when affliction or persecution rises for the word's sake, immediately they are scandalized by me, and fall immediately. 4:18 And those who are planted among the thorns are those who hear the word, 4:19 And the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches and the lusts of other things enter in and choke the word and it is made unfruitful. 4:20 And those who were planted on good ground, are those who hear the word and receive it, and produce fruit, some a hundred times, some sixty times, some thirty times. 4:21 And he said to them, Is a candle lit to be put under a bushel basket, or under the table? And not, rather, to be set on a candlestick? 4:22 For there is nothing so private that shall not be revealed, neither anything so secret that it shall not come into the open. 4:23 If any man have ears to hear, let him hear. 4:24 And he said to them, Be careful what you hear, with what measure you use, it will be measured to you, and to you who hear, more will be given. 4:25 For he who has, to him will be given: and he who does not have, from him will be taken even that little bit he has. 4:26 And he said, So the kingdom of God is like a man who plants a seed in the ground; 4:27 And he sleeps, and gets up night and day, but the seed springs up and grows, but he does not know how. 4:28 For the earth produces fruit by herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear. 4:29 But when the fruit is produced, immediately he puts in the sickle, because the ripe corn has come. 4:30 And he said, To what will we compare the kingdom of God? And with what comparison will we compare it? 4:31 It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is planted in the soil, is smaller than all the seeds that are in the soil, 4:32 But when it is planted, it grows up, and is the greatest of all herbs, and shoots out great branches; so that the birds of the air may live under the shadow of it. 4:33 And with many such parables he preached the word to those who were able to hear it. .4:34 He said nothing to them unless it was in the form of a parable, but when they were all alone, he explained all things to his disciples. 4:35 And the same day, when evening came, he said to them, Let us pass over to the other side. 4:36 And they let the crowd depart, and they took him across in a boat. And there were other boats with them. 4:37 And a powerful wind storm came up, and sent waves flooding into the boat. 4:38 And he was in the back part of the boat, asleep on a pillow, and they woke him, and said, Master, do you not care if we die? 4:39 And he stood up, and yelled at the wind, and said to the sea, Peace! Be still. And the wind stopped and there was a great calm. 4:40 And he said to them, Why are you so afraid? How is it that you have no faith? 4:41 But they feared greatly, and said to each other, What kind of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him? 5:1 And they came over to the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes. 5:2 And when he came out of the boat, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man possessed with an unclean spirit, 5:3 Who had his house among the tombs; and no man could bind him, not even with chains, 5:4 Because often, when he had been bound with fetters and chains, he had ripped the chains apart, and broke the fetters into pieces. No man could tame him. 5:5 And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying and cutting himself with stones. 5:6 But when he saw Jesus off at a distance, he ran and worshipped him, 5:7 And cried with a loud voice, saying, What have I to do with you, Jesus, Son of the most high God? I appeal to you in the name of God, that you not torment me. 5:8 For he said to him, Come out of the man, you unclean spirit. 5:9 And he asked him, What is your name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion, because we are many. 5:10 And he begged him not to send them out of the country.  5:11 And there was a great herd of pigs feeding near the mountains. 5:12 And all the demons begged him, saying, Send us into the pigs, so we may go into them. 5:13 And immediately Jesus let them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and went into the pigs, and the startled herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand) and were drowned in the sea. 5:14 And the pig herders ran away and spoke about this both in the city, and in the country. And they went out to see what it had happened. 5:15 And they came to Jesus, and saw the man who had been possessed by a demon, and who had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind. And they were afraid.  5:16 And those who saw it told them how it was done to him who was possessed with the devil, and also about the pigs. 5:17 And they began to beg him to depart out of their region. 5:18 And when he got into the boat, the man who had been possessed with the demon begged him to take him with them. 5:19 But Jesus did not allow him to come with him, but said instead, Go home to your friends, and tell them the great things the Lord has done for you, and that he has had compassion for you. 5:20 And he left, and began to preach in Decapolis about the great things Jesus had done for him, and all men were amazed. 5:21 And when Jesus had passed over again by boat to the other side, many people gathered to him: and he was near to the sea. 5:22 And, one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus, approached. And when he saw him, he fell down at his feet, 5:23 And begged him, saying, My little daughter lies near the point of death: I beg you, come and lay your hands on her, so she may be healed, and live. 5:24 And Jesus went with him; and so many people followed him, they nearly crushed him. 5:25 And a certain woman, who had experienced a hemorrhage for twelve years, 5:26 And had suffered many things by many doctors, and had spent all that she had, felt no improvement at all, but instead, grew worse and worse. 5:27 When she heard of Jesus, she came in among the press of people behind him and touched his clothes. 5:28 For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I will be healthy. 5:29 And immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that illness. 5:30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that healing had gone out of him, turned around to the crowd and said, Who just touched my clothes? 5:31 And his disciples said to him, You see the crowd pressing in on you on every side, and you say, Who touched me? 5:32 And he turned around to see she who had done it. 5:33 The woman, full of dread and quaking with fear, and knowing what had just happened within her, fell down in front of him, and told him everything. 5:34 And he said to her, Daughter, your faith has made you healthy; go in peace, and be healed from your sickness. 5:35 While he was still speaking, there came from the ruler of the synagogue's house someone who said, Your daughter is dead. Why disturb the Master any further about it? 5:36 As soon as Jesus heard these words, he said to the ruler of the synagogue, Do not be afraid, only believe. 5:37 And he allowed no man to follow him, except Peter, and James, and John the brother of James. 5:38 And when they came to the synagogue leader’s house, they saw the anguish of those who wept and wailed. 5:39 And they went in and he said to them, Why are you troubled and weeping? The girl is not dead, but sleeps. 5:40 They laughed at him, but he threw them all out, and took the father and mother of the girl, and those who were with them into the room where the child was. 5:41 And he took the girl by the hand, and said to her, Talitha cumi; which means: Girl, I say to you, Get up. 5:42 And immediately the girl got up and walked; for she was twelve years old. And they were extremely astonished. 5:43 And he commanded that no one should know about it, and told them to give her some something to eat.
