The
Letter of Saint Clement to First Century Christians (1 Clement in
Modern English)
by Abbott ePublishing
The Letter (Epistle) of Clement, known as First Clement, is a letter
ascribed to Saint
Clement, an Apostolic Father, and the fourth Pope and Bishop of Rome.
First Clement
(written around the year AD
96) is one of the oldest Christian documents outside the New Testament
canon. The letter was written for the church in Corinth, where it was
read for centuries. Historians accept it as an authentic first century
document. It is very long, nearly twice as long as the New Testament
book of Hebrews.
It was extremely well known and well read in earlier times, and was
included in some early lists of Canonical scripture.
This is a
special, ORIGINAL publication of Clement's letter (not a cut-and-paste
job) with the archaic,
Victorian-era pastische of Biblical King James language completely
updated for
modern ears.
