eBook Formats at
Abbott ePublishing
Currently, Abbott ePublishing
eBooks are published in .PDF
(Adobe Portable Document Format)
and Mobipocket formats. (Though
most eBooks published since 2014
are in .PDF format exclusively.)
Portable
Document
Format
has become extremely popular as
an eBook format. It offers
clarity, excellent readability
and the ability to faithfully
reproduce
the authors’ printed word on a
readable page.
.PDFs
have
become
a standard reading format for
many devices, including Amazon’s
Kindle Reader and on most
smartphones with apps. Documents
can be read on any desktop or
laptop using
Adobe’s free-to-download Adobe
Reader. You can download the
latest
version at http://get.adobe.com/reader.
Mobipocket
is
another standard format that has
gained wide acceptance. It can
be
read using the free Mobipocket
Desktop Reader, which is
downloadable at mobipocket.com.
It
can be used with the operating
systems of a vast array of
handheld
devices, such as the Blackberry,
Palm OS, and on Windows
Mobile-enabled
handhelds.
Some of our eBooks are available
on ePub, another popular format
that
is good when only text is used,
and where images are
unimportant. We've
had mixed results with this
format, and for most of our
eBooks, it
isn't a good fit.
We

exploring other formats in the
